My mother has suffered from sleep apnea for a long time. When I was a child, no one really knew anything about the condition and it went undiagnosed for a long time. She would fall asleep in the middle of every day activities, such as cooking or even driving. We learned to be on alert at all times to wake her. She received surgery and therapy many years ago and is now much improved. Her medical ID bracelets are always on hand in case something alarming happens, but for the most part, she lives a pretty normal life. It’s nice to see her quality of life so much better than what I remember as a child
