I arranged a cheap package offer to Germany that I located through one of the well known holiday web sites; a bargain for my two week break. Everything was simply perfect up to the time the Iceland volcano threw out huge amounts of ash and stopped almost all flights in Europe. The family were stranded on holiday for many days over our booked stay hence resulting in increased food, hotel and other general expenses. My credit card account has peaked at its limit and we’ve had to resort to payday loan lenders until such time as we are given a level of reimbursement from the airline. On a really positive note the finance company are most flexible and understanding of the circumstances and are happy to take over for the following month. It has been over a week now since I got back from my vacation in Italy and despite plenty of telephone conversations and letters to the travel company, I’m yet to get the reimbursement for additional additional fees I was subject to at the time the flights were cancelled. I am now seriously considering submitting a claim via the small claims court due to the fact that I feel I am being completely ignored. In my situation and I’m confident many like me, I simply can’t afford to live off my credit card and succumb to incredibly high interest rates and delayed payment charges to pay off the total amount of the holiday which in reality has doubled! I’m now thinking about payday loans online i.e. short term funding at a lower interest charge, so that I can manage for the next few weeks.
