Crib bedding can make a nursery look wonderful, but the pillows and comforters should be used as decorative items only, because they are not safe to have in your child’s crib. Keep in mind, your pediatrician can answer a lot of your questions about infant bedding, but the best advice is to keep it to a minimum.
Remove all stuffed animals and pillows from the crib before putting baby to sleep, because they’re suffocation hazards. It is alright for a child to have toys in the crib as long as they are not falling asleep.
You know it is time for a pillow and comforter when your child is ready for a toddler bed, but realize that even though there are more options for decorating that it will be your child who will want to pick out the choices.
